Outdoor Adventure/Recreation

Teen Challenge believes that recreation and activity are an important of a teenage boy's life. Teen Challenge emphasizes having fun in a way that is positive and that builds character.

Outdoor Adventure Program

Our outdoor adventure program is affiliated with the Boys Scouts of America. We have received recognition as a Boy Scout Venture Crew. Our students have regular opportunity to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). All activities are led by experienced staff and are conducted in a safety conscious manner.

These activities help to develop students on multiple levels. Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance. They also grow spiritually as they get the opportunity to experience God's creation on a deeper level.

The Outdoor Adventure Program:

• Develops leadership skills

Recreation

Students at Teen Challenge take part in many different kinds of recreational activities. Students participate in many off campus activities during their stay at Teen Challenge. They go to concerts and conferences, visit theme parks, go rock climbing, bowl, ice skate, and do many other activities.

A variety of activities are offered on campus as well. Students regularly play basketball in our gymnasium, use our weight lifting equipment, play Frisbee golf, and practice their climbing skills our rock climbing wall.
